It is time to grab a slice (or several) at one of the most thematic restaurants in Celestial Park at Epic Universe: Pizza Moon.
Location
Exterior

Pizza Moon is housed in a pale pink building with a large blue sign in the style of a theater marquee. The moon icon at the top of the sign has one eye getting struck by a slice of pizza, in a reference to a similar scene where the moon is hit by a rocket in the 1902 silent film “Le Voyage dans la Lune.” There is a section of covered outdoor tables near the main entrance, as well as a smaller section of uncovered tables around the right side.
Interior

Pizza Moon is a quick-service dining area, so there is one larger ordering window and plenty of indoor seating space. The dining room is supposed to be in the style of a Victorian-era theater converted into a restaurant, with an added Pizza flair. The bright blue walls are decorated with moving flats depicting characters eating pizza in space.

12 ” Pizza Reviews
Pizza Lunare – $18.99
Roasted garlic béchamel, fromage de lune, ricotta, pancetta, garlic confit, and purple celestial ube crust
The most notable thing about this pizza is the ube crust, which we actually enjoyed. The crust is thin and a little soft, but not in an underdone way. There is a ton of cheese, and the ricotta, in particular, is fantastic. For someone who wants a pizza that is more unique, this would be a solid choice.

Hala Kahiki Mahina – $18.99
Porchetta, fromage de lune, pineapple, and citrus mostarda
The citrus flavor of this pizza is potent but not overpowering. You get an immediate burst of the pineapple and citrus, but it fades a bit as you chew, and it matches well with the sweetness. We only ranked this a little lower than the Pizza Lunare because we missed the added bit of cheese.

Space Cowboy – $18.99
BBQ sauce, rotisserie chicken, pickled red onion, Castelvetrano olives, and BBQ potato chips
This pizza was a little too tangy for our taste. The BBQ sauce tasted very vinegar-heavy, and there was not much chicken compared to the other toppings. We aren’t haters of BBQ pizza as a whole, but this didn’t work for us. The crust was still cooked very well and had a nice crunch.

A Trip to Vesuvio – $18.99
Fromage de lune, pepperoni, fennel sausage, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, cherry peppers, Calabrian chili, arugula, and hot honey
The description of this pizza didn’t mention mushrooms, but there are mushroom caps. We love the flavors of this, it’s definitely the best combination of all the pizzas. The pepperoni is fantastic, and it’s super spicy, which is a plus for us.

The Pizza Moon Pepperoni – $17.99
Tomato sauce, fromage de lune, and pepperoni
This is the best “basic” pepperoni pizza we’ve ever had from a counter service restaurant. The pepperoni curls up and traps grease just the way you want. The crust is a little thin but doughy. The cheese is thick and perfectly melted, reminding us of New York pizza. The pepperoni has a bit of spice. It’s incredible.

The Giant Mushroom (Vegetarian) – $17.99
Roasted garlic béchamel, fromage de lune, wild mushrooms, truffle aioli, and parsley
This is another phenomenal option. There are loads of big mushrooms. The cheese and béchamel are creamy. The crust has a slightly crispy exterior but a doughy interior. It’s a little salty on the backend.

The Nanarossa (Vegetarian) – $17.99
Tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, stracciatella, heirloom tomatoes, and fresh basil
This has the same delicious crust. The mozzarella is nice. It’s pretty good, though not as mind-blowing as some of the other pizzas. It’s an excellent option for vegetarians or picky eaters.

Harvest Moon (Vegan) – $17.99
Tomato sauce, grilled artichoke, Divina tomatoes, roasted peppers, Castelvetrano olives, and arugula
The Harvest Moon looks almost identical to the Trip to Vesuvio, and it is ultimately the same pizza in a vegan style. For a pizza without cheese, we liked the topping combination. The red sauce is solid, and the artichoke was also fresh.

Baked Pasta Reviews
Pink Moon alla Vodka – $15.99
Cheese-stuffed Triangoletti with spicy tomato cream sauce and fromage de lune
Triangoletti is basically triangular ravioli. The pasta was a little doughy, but the cheese was of okay quality.
We’ve had a lot of bad quick-service theme park pasta. This isn’t bad, but you can tell it’s not great. You can tell it’s not fresh. It’s not too hefty, but it is small for $15.99, considering you can get a whole pizza for just $2 more.

Cosmic Alfredo Chicken – $16.99
Radiatore pasta, rotisserie chicken, roasted garlic béchamel, mushrooms, pesto, and fromage de lune
The creamy béchamel was the dominant flavor in this pasta. The chicken was bland and dry. The mushrooms did add a bit. The pasta is cooked well, and there’s a ton of cheese. It’s not awful, but still not amazing.
Rating out of 7: 4
Rigatoni Meteor Melt – $16.99
Rigatoni, homemade meatballs, marinara, basil, ricotta, and provolone
This was the worst of the three pastas. The top layer of pasta was overcooked. The sauce was pretty good with a bit of spice. The meatballs aren’t bad, but they’re not better than any chain restaurant.

Salad Reviews
Moon Cheese Caesar – $11.99
Chopped romaine, Moon Cheese, Caesar dressing, and grated parmesan
This is a fantastic Caesar salad. There was a pretty heavy presence of black pepper and garlic, though not in a way that was overpowering. There was a nice balance of romaine to dressing, and the cheese is a fun touch.

Rocket Fuel (Gluten-sensitive) – $16.99
Chopped romaine, salami, pepperoni, pepperoncini, red onions, provolone, Italian dressing, and grated parmesan
The meat is cubed rather than sliced, which makes it a little too chewy. The meat is also heavily seasoned, so it would be better if it were sliced and mixed into the salad more. There is not as much black pepper on this salad compared to the Moon Cheese Caesar, but the dressing ratio is still excellent.

Dessert Reviews
Lunar Phase Cake – $6.99
Meyer lemon olive oil cake, limoncello sabayon, blackberries, and raspberry crisps
Flora Taverna at Universal Helios Grand Hotel has a disappointing olive oil cake, but thankfully, this was amazing. It’s more delicate with a subtle olive flavor. It’s light and fluffy. It’s not super sweet. The presentation is beautiful. It’s an interesting and unique dessert.
Rating out of 7: 7
Brownie Eclipse – $11.99
Warm gooey brownie, Nutella, toasted marshmallows, and crushed Oreo
The Brownie Eclipse isn’t as unique as the Lunar Phase Cake, but it’s just as good. It’s perfect for chocolate lovers. It’s more of a molten lava cake than a brownie. It’s soft and crumbly, making it hard to pick up. The chocolate is rich and deadly. The Oreos are fresh. It’s a spectacular chocolate dessert.

Overall
Don’t get the pasta. It’s called Pizza Moon for a reason. The pizzas are amazing. The desserts are incredible. And the salads are also good options. We definitely recommend Pizza Moon.
