After weeks of previews, Universal has begun installing ring lights around the facial recognition cameras at the lockers for Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

The locker facilities are dim and gloomy, much like the rest of Frankenstein Manor. Guests have been encountering issues with the locker system, which primarily utilizes facial recognition technology to operate (though Team Members can assist you in using your ticket media instead). The locker rental station pictured above is from the start of Annual Passholder previews, where no lighting was in place.

The facial recognition technology captures an image of your face when you set up the locker rental, but the photos at Monsters Unchained have been hard to see with heavy shadows. As of May 11, two of the locker bays now have ring lights around the cameras, as pictured above. The intent is to help the camera capture a more reliably accurate photo, so there aren’t problems when it comes time for guests to reopen their lockers.
This is one of several in-progress projects around Epic Universe as the grand opening date of May 22 approaches.
