A new ad for the live-action “Lilo & Stitch” film on social media references when Cinderella Castle was strewn with toilet paper by the mischievous blue alien for the grand opening of Stitch’s Great Escape.

Stitch Covers Cinderella Castle in Toilet Paper Again

The video was shared on Instagram by the official accounts for Walt Disney World, Disney D23, and Disney Parks.

In the video, we see Stitch in his live-action look rolling into frame in front of Cinderella Castle, which has been digitally decorated to look exactly as it did in 2004, when Stitch covered the castle in toilet paper and graffitied a turret. Back then, it read “Stitch is King”; now, it says, “Stitch was here.”

The camera then zooms out to see Stitch’s chaotic creation in all its glory. Sadly (or thankfully), this is just a digital recreation, and Cinderella Castle has not actually been defaced by Stitch once again.

The various Disney Parks accounts have also shared video of Stitch wreaking havoc at Disneyland during its 70th anniversary celebration, with Stitch crashing a photoshoot for Mickey and Minnie, riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and more.

New menu items inspired by “Lilo & Stitch” are also coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland to celebrate the release of the new film.

“Lilo & Stitch” is in theaters now and is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”). It stars newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, Sanders as the voice of Stitch, Sydney Agudong as Nani Pelekai, Kaipo Dudoit as David Kawena, Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, Galifianakis as Jumba, and Magnussen as Pleakley (who does not wear a dress in the film, despite Fleischer Camp’s attempts). The screenplay is written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes.
