Tom Felton will reprise his role as Draco Malfoy from the “Harry Potter” films in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway.
Tom Felton Returning as Malfoy
Felton will appear in the show for a limited 19-week engagement from November 11, 2025, through March 22, 2026. This will be Felton’s Broadway debut and the first time an actor from the “Harry Potter” films has appeared in the stage show.
“Being a part of the ‘Harry Potter’ films has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Felton. “Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in ‘Cursed Child’ this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes — and of course his iconic platinum blond hair — and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.”
Felton and “Cursed Child” shared a video (below) of the actor in costume as Draco, including the return of the platinum blonde hair.
As Felton said, he is 37, the same age Malfoy is supposed to be in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” set 19 years after the events of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Felton first appeared as Draco Malfoy when he was just 12 years old in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (2001).
“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling came up with the play’s story with help from Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. Thorne wrote the script, and Tiffany directs. It opened on the West End in 2016. The Broadway version opened in April 2018 at the Lyric Theatre. The show was originally two parts, with a break for viewers in between, but it was later updated to be just one part.
Aaron Bartz currently portrays Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway. The rest of the cast includes Erik Christopher Peterson as Draco’s son Scorpius Malfoy, Matthew James Thomas as Harry Potter, Alex Serino as Harry’s son Albus Potter, Rachel Christopher as Hermione Granger, Ayanna Nicole Thomas as Rose Granger Weasley, Daniel Fredrick as Ron Weasley, Sarah Killough as Ginny Weasley, and Kristen Martin as Delphi.
