Astro Orbiter at Magic Kingdom is back open, according to the Walt Disney World website and My Disney Experience.
Astro Orbiter Reopens
The Tomorrowland ride has been closed for refurbishment since January 13, 2025. It was completely dismantled for maintenance off-site and then reconstructed. Though Disney has been testing the ride for the past few weeks, they never officially announced a reopening date.
Although the Walt Disney World website still has a notice stating the ride is closed, both the Astro Orbiter webpage and My Disney Experience app list operating hours today (June 27, 2025) from park open to close, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. As of 10:05 a.m., it has a 20-minute standby wait.
As far as we know, there were no major changes to the ride’s theming or experience. The previously orange elevator shaft was painted silver-gray.
