According to a Walt Disney World Cast Member, every year on the first Saturday of June, “the bears go watch the bears,” referring to a group of LGBTQIA+ individuals who attend the Gay Day event.

The term “bear” refers to a particular group of the LGBTQIA+ community, mainly those who are beared or larger bodied. Other groups including teens and young adults, leather men, trans, and lesbians also had specific schedule meet-ups in Magic Kingdom on Saturday, June 7 as a part of Pride Month.

Most of the viewers at the 1:00 showing of The Country Bear Musical Jamboree on Saturday, June 7 were wearing red. Red shirts are commonly associated with Gay Days, an unofficial Disney Parks gathering since 1991 at Walt Disney World, and 1998 at Disneyland. LGBTQIA+ individuals continue to wear red shirts to Walt Disney World on a weekend in June, and in September at Disneyland.
