Blizzard Beach Closing September 2025 While Typhoon Lagoon Remains Open, Likely for Seasonal Refurbishment

According to the Walt Disney World website, Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park will close this September, presumably for its annual seasonal refurbishment.

Blizzard Beach Closing September 2025

According to the operating calendar on the webpage for Blizzard Beach, the water park will have its last day of operation on Sunday, September 7, 2025, and will be closed as of Monday, September 8. There are no operating hours listed for the water park through Sunday, November 30, which is as far as the calendar goes.

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon

This closure comes after both Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park operated simultaneously for the first time since 2019. According to the Walt Disney World website, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open through Tuesday, September 9, but does not have hours for September 10 and onward.

While operating calendars can change and be updated over time, WDWMagic reports that the Blizzard Beach closure is related to seasonal maintenance. Disney has not made any official announcements.

From 2019 through 2025, only one water park would operate while the other was closed for refurbishment. It is unclear if Walt Disney World is going back to that schedule once summer comes to an end.

As a reminder, guests visiting Walt Disney World in 2025 can take advantage of free water park admission on their check-in day.
