The Jim Henson Company is considering bringing MuppetVision 3D to the world of virtual reality, according to Disney fansite LaughingPlace’s X account.

Attendees at a 70th anniversary panel for the Jim Henson Company were told that discussions have started with Disney about the possible VR release. Notably, Jane Henson — co-founder of Muppets, Inc. — stated that the attraction “has been documented with VR cameras.”
MuppetVision, one of the last projects from the late Jim Henson, recently closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While there are currently no confirmed plans, Disney did note that they were preserving the film from the attraction.
Fans have speculated that it may return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in one form or another, but for now, guests will have to wait for the Muppet takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
Details for the possible VR release were not discussed.
