Test Track presented by General Motors will reopen on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Disney Parks Blog said the updated attraction will debut a new musical score and new scenes that highlight technology making our cars smarter and our lives more fun.

One new scene showcases how vehicles can use advanced cameras and sensors to “see” the world they drive through. Imagineers represented this LiDAR technology with over 29,000 light nodes. See a video demonstration on Disney Parks Blog.
Disney said, “While Test Track has always celebrated new and future automotive technology, it’s also a reminder of what a road trip is all about: spending quality time in the company of friends and family while embracing the beauty of the world around you.”

Vehicle Tech Showcase
One of the most exciting aspects of the Test Track reopening is the advanced technology that’s been woven into the attraction. You’ll see immersive use of lighting, projection mapping, and over 29,000 lighting nodes that respond in real-time to ride motion. Disney Imagineering, in partnership with GM, has introduced LiDAR-style design elements and sensory-rich environments, offering a more connected and high-tech ride experience.

Queue Enhancements
From the moment you step into the newly refreshed queue, you’ll notice the difference. Designed to engage your senses and spark your imagination, the queue now includes six new zones of interactive exhibits that let you explore the future of mobility.
Scenic Outdoor Overlay
As you ride, you’ll be immersed in an all-new scenic overlay inspired by the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Towering trees, misty lighting effects, and carefully placed natural elements help create the feeling of driving through a living, breathing environment. It’s a bold departure from the previous neon-heavy theme, and it aims to create a more grounded and emotionally rich journey that still maintains Test Track’s signature speed and intensity.

Test Track Reopening Date Ride Access
As for ride access, Test Track is anticipated to return with Lightning Lane, though there’s also a strong possibility of a Virtual Queue option at launch due to high demand. However it is unknown, at this time, if those queue opitons will be available on opening day.
Test Track Ride History
The Test Track reopening marks the third major version of this beloved ride. Originally opened in 1999, the first iteration focused heavily on real-world vehicle testing. In 2012, the attraction was redesigned to resemble a sleek digital testing facility. Now, in 2025, the ride blends storytelling with cutting-edge vehicle technology in a way that honors its past while looking firmly toward the future. Test Track remains EPCOT’s fastest ride, reaching top speeds of 65 miles per hour, and offers a ride time of just under five minutes. The core structure of the ride remains but the narrative and sensory experience have been transformed for a new generation of guests.
