Wilson’s children said on Instagram, “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy”.

Wilson’s top hits include “Surf City” (1963), “I Get Around” (1964), “Help Me, Rhonda” (1965), and “Good Vibrations” (1966). The latter was parodied by Disney as part of the “Food Rocks” attraction at EPCOT, which ran from 1994 to 2004. During the show, The Peach Boys performed “Good Nutrition.”

Wilson recorded covers of several classic Disney songs for “In the Key of Disney,” a 2011 Walt Disney Records album. Songs included “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story,” “The Bare Necessities” from “The Jungle Book,” “Kiss the Girl” from “The Little Mermaid,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King,” and “When You Wish Upon a Star” from “Pinocchio.”

“In the Key of Disney” was Wilson’s second Walt Disney Records album after “Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin.” The 2010 album consisted of a series of covers of George and Ira Gershwin songs, plus two songs completed from unfinished Gershwin fragments.
