Muppets Courtyard in Grand Avenue was blocked off earlier this month after MuppetVision 3D permanently closed. Now, according to WDWMagic, part of the Cast Member parking lot off Cypress Drive, behind the MuppetVision 3D theater, is reportedly blocked by walls. Disney will need that space for the new Monsters, Inc. door coaster as part of a Monstropolis land.

Monstropolis concept art shows that many Grand Avenue structures will be reused, and Stage 1 Company Store will be demolished. However, the Monsters, Inc. headquarters and door coaster show building will be brand new to the space.

The door coaster will be Disney’s first vertical lift and first suspended coaster. Other attractions, including what new show might go in the MuppetVision 3D theater, haven’t been announced. Disney also hasn’t said when the Monsters, Inc. land will open.
