In an interview with ComicBook.com, Mark Hamill has revealed that he will not be returning to the Star Wars “Skywalker Saga” franchise for the upcoming 10th film.
Mark Hamill Not Returning for “New Jedi Order”

When asked if he would return as Luke’s Force ghost in “New Jedi Order,” Hamill stated that he is “forever grateful he played such a meaningful role in the Star Wars franchise, he believes it is time for Lucasfilm to move past the legacy characters and focus entirely on the younger generation.” He continued with the following statement:
“I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called Star Wars‘the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,’” Hamill said. “We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I’m appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.”“And by the way, when I disappeared in “The Last Jedi,” I left my robes behind. And there’s no way I’m gonna appear as a naked Force ghost.”

New “Star Wars” Trilogy

Daisy Ridley is set to reprise her role as Rey from the sequel trilogy as she leads a “new Jedi order.” According to some sources, the trilogy will be episodes 10, 11, and 12 of “The Skywalker Saga,” the main series of “Star Wars” films. Other sources indicated the films will start a new saga.
Simon Kinberg will write and produce the films with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. Although the details of the new saga are under wraps, Kennedy stated that “This is the next iteration, the new saga that moves us into the future.”
