The latest addition to the shoulder plush lineup at Walt Disney World is a light-up gargoyle from the Haunted Mansion.
We found this spooky new plush at Once Upon a Time in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, though it may become available at other locations around the resort.
Editor’s Note: Since originally publishing this article, all of the gargoyle shoulder plush have been pulled from the shelves at Once Upon a Time. While not confirmed by Cast Members, it is possible this plush was accidentally released early. Stay tuned for more updates.
Haunted Mansion Gargoyle Shoulder Plush – $29.99

This new shoulder plush is shaped like one of the iconic gargoyle light sconces seen in the stretching room of the Haunted Mansion. The plush is mostly a dark green color, apart from the two candles it holds above its head.

The gargoyle has an embroidered face with stitching in a dark green color that appears almost black. The plush has a slightly wider smile than its Haunted Mansion equivalent, making it look a bit more cheerful instead of menacing.

The sides and back are all a matching shade of green. The gargoyle has two plush feet that hang below its body. The magnetic puck for the shoulder plush is also green.

As described on the Haunted Mansion-themed tag, this shoulder plush has an added feature. When pressing a button embedded in the gargoyle’s left thigh, the tips of the candles will actually light up. Batteries are included with the plush upon purchase, so you can wear it right away. The batteries are stored in the Velcro section on the gargoyle’s back.

While difficult to see during the daytime, the candle tips both have small light bulbs that glow yellow through the semi-transparent fabric.
Haunted Mansion merchandise always sells out quickly, so we recommend grabbing one soon if you want to walk around Walt Disney World with a new gargoyle pal. The resort is also preparing for the 2025 fall season with the first set of Halloween merchandise.
