A new original character has been introduced for the upcoming Cars attraction at Magic Kingdom, and he serves as an homage to a classic Disney cartoon character.
The Cars franchise is coming to Magic Kingdom as an expansion of Frontierland. The ride will be housed in an area called Piston Peak National Park, and the new character is a Park Ranger.
Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore

The original character is named Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, which is a Cars-appropriate play on Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore.
Ranger Woodlore (the human version) is mostly found in cartoons featuring Humphrey the Bear, and his first appearance was in a 1954 Donald Duck short called “Grin and Bear It.” Woodlore is a ranger at the Brownstone National Park.
His car counterpart is a ranger at Piston Peak National Park and will be seen in the queue for the main attraction where guests participate in an off-road rally. He will appear in a Ranger Room where he will be an Audio Animatronic figure. While guests queue, Woodlore will provide key story details such as the lore of Piston Peak an explanation for why guests are racing through the Rocky Mountain-inspired wilderness that day.
Of course, this won’t be the first time that Cars characters have been represented in Audio Animatronic form in a Disney theme park, as guests can find a number of the automotive cast brought to life on Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure, as seen below.
