Howdy! I had a wonderful hot morning in Disney’s Animal Kingdom where I found new merchandise and checked in on our animal friends. I then ran over to Magic Kingdom and devoured the returning waffles at Sleepy Hollow.
Good Morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This morning was very warm, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is notoriously toasty. When the park opened this morning, the crowds were shuffling in hoards. I’ve never seen so many large families in one place. Not even twenty minutes after I took this picture, the crowd had dispersed pretty well.
New Merchandise!

Riverside Depot was full of new merchandise. There were two new tank tops: one featuring Hei Hei and the other Donald Duck. Each tank is available for $31.99. There is also a new U.S. Army shirt honoring 250 years of service. This would be a great Father’s Day gift for any army active service member or veteran. The shirt is available for $29.99.
There is also a new Monsters Inc. figurine set available for $34.99.
Citizen Watch Event

In Riverside Depot there was a Citizen’s watch showcase set up. I was not as ready as the other guests in the space so I just did a quick look, but dang, there are some nice pieces out for this year.
New Fans!

Island Mercantile had two new character fans available for $16.99 each. If you have made the mistake of stepping outside in central Florida without a fan at this time of year, you at least have these you can pick up in the park.
Seriously though, I can’t recommend a neck fan more if you are visiting this time of year. Do you have any tips for staying cool in the parks in the summertime? Let me know in the comments below.
Abdim’s Storks in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

I checked in on our favorite couple, the Abdim’s Storks. Everything seemed well with the stork pair. As per usual, she was sitting in her nest, while he manicured his feathers. I really love these two.
Pandora World of Avatar Updates

I was excited to hear the drums coming from the center of Pandora. Unfortunately, only the main area of drums is currently working. The other drums surrounding the central area do not work. The interactive water feature sign is still partially blocked with a small piece of fabric, and the feature is still off.
All this to say, this land could be way more interesting and kinetic than it currently is.
Gorilla Falls Fun at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, I was met with a Hamerkop perched high above the guests. It’s funny watching the birds watching the humans watch them. I don’t think the birds understand why we humans are so intrigued by them, but they have no idea how cool they are. Then again, maybe they are just entertained by us as we are them.
Breakfast Time
The shining star of Gorilla Falls is, of course, the Gorilla family. This morning most of the Gorillas were in shady spots, enjoying some lettuce and other treats the handlers left out for them.
It will never not be amazing seeing how human these animals are. Even the way they look around and eat is just totally human. I love them.
Precious Sleepy Zebra Ears
I have a pup at home, and he pushes his ears down like this into submission. Yes, every time my pup does, a treat follows. I won’t lie, this Zebra with the submissive ears had me wrapped around their little hoof. Precious little striped baby.
Monkey Moment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
I relate most to the monkeys. This footage could easily be me rolling out of bed on the weekend. Again, it is just amazing how human these creatures can be. There is so much soul in their eyes, I don’t know how anyone could not love animals in general. I get not wanting them in your personal space, but heck.
They’re Back!

Things were pretty quiet from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so I hopped on a bus to Magic Kingdom to try the returning waffles from Sleepy Hollow. Yes, they are tasty, but for a full review be sure to stay tuned to our website.
Bye-bye from the Disney Bus
I hope you enjoyed our brief day at Walt Disney World. I most enjoyed the waffles, but let me know in the comments below what your favorite moment was from today’s adventures.
