Howdy! It was a rainy day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the Muppets Courtyard or finding new merchandise. I won’t lie, sometimes these rainy mornings are the best because the crowds are low and the temperature isn’t bad.

Good Morning from Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Rainy day at Disney's MGM Studios; empty parking lot, entrance, and visitors in ponchos along the main street.

Oi… It’s not the ideal start, but rainy days usually mean lower temps, cloud coverage, and fewer crowds. After the suffocating weather with the off-and-on rain yesterday, I will happily don the rain gear until the sun comes out and makes everything hotter.

If you have never experienced the heat after a rainstorm in central Florida, then you do not know humid. Think of it like a sauna that you can’t escape. You wear a rain jacket, but you are so hot you sweat, so you’re wet either way. It is nonsense.

A New Box

Three views of a turquoise wooden box on the ground near a walkway at Hollywood Studios.

I noticed a new Tiffany Blue Box in front of the Vacation Fun Short Theater. Although I don’t think there is anything associated with Tiffany with this construction box. I found it a bit odd to paint it this color rather than the typical go-away green. It is a Hollywood Studios color, but still strange.

Muppet Morning

I spent most of the morning exploring what I could and what is left of Muppets Courtyard. I watched the PizzeRizzo sign flash its iconic “It’s Rat Pizza” as seen above. I watched MuppetVision 3D and accepted the future with a little less Jim Henson. I love him like so many of you, and yes, my heart does ache for this space.

I look forward to the Monsters, Inc. world coming alive, but I don’t like talking about the Muppets being gone. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Seinfeld Moment

On my way out of the Muppets Courtyard, I had to try to phone a friend that I have been trying to make contact with since I was a literal child. I remember making my mom stand here, trying every single name in the directory.

Nowadays the call box is behind the newly moved Muppets Penny Machines. Let me know in the comments below if you understood the reference before the YouTube video below gave it away.

Bring back this kind of entertainment! I love these fun references.

Foggy and Humid in Ronto Roasters

When I was passing through Batuu’s Ronto Roasters to check on Nana’s favorite droid, I noticed that his working conditions have really suffered in the rainy weather. His eyes are still not lit, and he doesn’t turn his head, and he doesn’t talk, but he keeps churning away.

I was mostly impressed with the amount of fog the steam effect was mixing with the rainy conditions; it was actually pretty wild. It almost felt like walking through a Halloween Horror Nights area at Universal.

New Toys in Toy Story

Collage of Toy Story Land sign, Woody mural, and toys in boxes at Hollywood Studios store shelves.

In Jesse’s Trading Post, I found that the Toy Story family has added new toys to the toybox. You can now purchase a figurine set of eight characters for $34.99. The set includes Buzz Lightyear, Rex, Green Alien, Hamm, Woody, Jesse, Bullseye, and, randomly, Stinky Pete. There is not a Lotso, unfortunately.

I also found a moving truck that folds out into Andy’s bedroom available for $39.99. The Pizza Planet Truck is also available for $29.99. Both vehicles include small Woody and Buzz figurines. I would’ve loved these as a kiddo.

Aurora Ear Headband – $34.99

Collage of pink and blue Encanto mouse ear headbands with gold charms, displayed at Hollywood Studios.

I walked over to the Disney Junior Courtyard to see what the wait time was for the new Little Mermaid show. A rough 40 minutes. I stopped in the little gift shop out front, In Character. I found the new Aurora ears at the bottom of the display case, which was shocking because these haven’t been released in the parks yet. I was not expecting to find these here.

Honestly, I am shocked they aren’t in the more posh shop, Legends of Hollywood, on Sunset Boulevard.

New Figurine Toys on Sunset Blvd.

A collage of Disney toys, Cinderella, Tower of Terror, and crowds at Disney's MGM Studios entrance.

Speaking of Sunset Boulevard, that hotel always looks good, but on a cloudy, rainy day, the tower really looks fantastic.

I was surprised to find even more figurine sets on Sunset Boulevard. I found a princess set in Once Upon a Time for $34.99. I thought Cinderella was pretty funny. I am not entirely sure why she is in a pose proving she has her shoe. It is funny, though.

In Beverly Sunset Boutique, I found a new ‘Up’ figurine set. I love the attention to detail. They even got Carl Fredricksen’s tennis balls on the bottom of his cane. It’s perfect. This set is also $34.99.

New Silver Ornament Charm and PRIDE Ornament

Three images: Disney keychain ornaments in packaging and a Hollywood Studios rainbow Mickey Mouse head Christmas ornament.

On my way out, I stopped at Celebrity 5&10. There was a new PRIDE ornament available for $34.99. I also found a new silver 2025 Disney World ornament charm. Nana found a gold one earlier this year, but now you can get both gold and silver. The charms may be the most affordable Disney souvenir outside the free celebratory buttons. The charms are available for $4.99 each.

I hope you enjoyed our rainy day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I most enjoyed being in an empty and moody Muppets Courtyard. I will miss this area, but I’m excited to see the Monsters, Inc. world come to life.

Let me know in the comments below how you feel about the coming changes to Hollywood Studios.
