Prairie Outpost Reopening in Magic Kingdom as Hat Store Five Years After Closing

The former Prairie Outpost candy store located in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland is now reopening as a hat store.

Prairie Outpost

Located in between Country Bear Musical Jamboree and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Prairie Outpost and Supply used to be home to confections and other treats such as candy apples, Mickey Rice Krispy Treats, and pre-packaged snacks. However, the storefront closed during the Covid-19 Pandemic. In 2021, after the parks re-opened, construction walls were erected around the Frontierland boardwalk in front of the store, but it never re-opened as a treat store.

Now, however, Prairie Outpost is being turned into a shop carrying wide-brimmed hats, classic fedoras, customized headwear and more, according to the Walt Disney World website. Guests can “become a fashion pioneer” by shopping at the re-imagined store.

No opening date is listed, although the website lists it as “coming soon.”
