On the geographic information map above, the show building is the pink shape in the parking lot off Cypress Dr. According to WDWMagic, the building will be approximately 365 feet by 330 feet wide and 100,000 square feet — the second largest building at Walt Disney World after Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

The parking lot that Monsters, Inc. is taking over is currently a Cast Member parking lot. Some of this space is already blocked off for construction work.

Guests will enter the ride through a Monsters, Inc. headquarters facade at the back of the former Muppets Courtyard, which closed permanently in early June. All the roller-coaster-related facilities will be brand new to the space but several other Muppets Courtyard/Grand Avenue structures will be reused for the new Monsters, Inc. land.

The long-anticipated door coaster will be Disney’s first vertical lift coaster and first suspended coaster.

Disney hasn’t announced other Monstropolis attractions or an opening timeframe for the land.
