To celebrate the upcoming debut of Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast at Universal Studios Japan, the park has posted pictures of a “Minions” Dave popcorn bucket and Bob sipper.

Universal Studios Japan has announced the opening date of its Minion Park expansion. The expansion will include a version of Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, which is the same attraction that first debuted at Universal Studios Florida in 2023. While the main story of the attraction is expected to be similar, Universal Studios Japan did confirm that the attraction will be “enhanced” with “new, exclusive content and enhanced gameplay.” The new version of the attraction is expected to open on July 11.
With the opening date drawing nearer, Universal has started to preview several celebratory merchandise items themed to “Despicable Me” and “Minions.”
‘Minions’ Dave Popcorn Bucket

The first new item is a popcorn bucket themed to the Minion named Dave. The bucket is shaped like Dave’s body, with his feet acting as the stand and his head hiding the lid for the popcorn. Dave has two brown eyes underneath his goggles and is wearing his standard blue overalls.
However, this popcorn bucket is specific to the Villain-Con Minion Blast attraction. Held in both of Dave’s hands is a smaller version of the attraction’s white blaster, which appears to have a type of light-up function in the preview images. Additionally, Dave is wearing a Villain-Con branded white hat with orange glasses. The included orange carry strap has more Villain-Con logos and wordmarks.
‘Minions’ Bob Sipper

The second merchandise item is a new sipper in a matching style as the popcorn bucket. Where the bucket was shaped like Dave, the sipper takes inspiration from Bob. To match their difference in sizes, Bob is a little shorter than Dave. Bob also has one green eye and one brown eye, but he is still wearing his regular blue overalls.
For the sipper, a white straw with an orange plastic topper is stuck through the middle of Bob’s hat. Like the bucket, this sipper is specific to the attraction, with Villain-Con logos printed on his orange baseball cap and his matching orange cup. The sipper comes with a purple-colored carry strap, though it has the same Universal Studios Japan and Villain-Con logos as the bucket.
Both the popcorn bucket and the sipper will be available at Minions Happy Kitchen in Universal Studios Japan starting on July 11.
