Work Begins as Disney Announces New Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Road Entrance

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World is getting a new roadway entrance.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Entrance Construction

A construction site with machinery, orange barriers, a large flag, and a bus near a building under a blue sky.

Construction is visible in front of the resort’s Great Ceremonial House as crews clear a section of parking lot that will become roadways. The new entrance will be off Floridian Way instead of Seven Seas Drive. The former Seven Seas Drive guest entrance will become the bus entrance.

Here is the official announcement from Disney:

From May 2025 through 2026, some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway and bus area. While construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions. All Resort dining, pools and amenities will remain available. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted. Please allow for extra travel time when arriving at or leaving the Resort.

The Great Ceremonial House and Monorail station, which were refurbished in 2021, will remain open.

This project has been planned for a few years but is only now coming to fruition. It’s part of ongoing roadwork around Magic Kingdom and nearby resorts focused on relieving traffic congestion.
