Osbourne’s family released a statement reading:

It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.

Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2020. In February 2023, he retired from touring. He performed at Black Sabbath’s final concert at the “Back to the Beginning” festival in Birmingham two weeks ago.

Osbourne collaborated with the rest of Black Sabbath and Universal on a Halloween Horror Nights maze at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2013. Black Sabbath: 13 3D was based on the “darkest lyrics” of Black Sabbath’s biggest hits and incorporated 3D video.

“We were all really excited when Universal Studios Hollywood approached us about doing a 3D ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ maze based on our music,” Osbourne said at the time. “I’ve seen the drawings of what it will look like when it’s finished and it looks amazing.” (via Ozzy.com)

Osbourne made occasional appearances in film and TV shows — often as himself. He was the voice of the Green Fairy in 20th Century Fox’s Moulin Rouge! He appeared in the 2016 Ghostbusters and voiced King Thrash in Trolls World Tour. He voiced Duke the Bear in an episode of Disney’s The 7D. He, of course, starred in The Osbournes, a reality series about his family that ran from 2002 to 2005 on MTV.

Osbourne is survived by his wife, Sharon, and his five children.
