The Disney’s Hollywood Studios archway leading into the park’s Animation Courtyard will be demolished.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Archway
Concept art for the updated Animation Courtyard does not include the archway. The courtyard will be updated with the return of The Magic of Disney Animation experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That attraction was present from the park’s opening in 1989 to 2015, when it was replaced by Star Wars: Launch Bay.
Now, Launch Bay is set to close and The Magic of Disney Animation will return in 2026 as a “place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.”
The archway is a secondary icon for the park, located at the front of the courtyard. Since 2019, it has featured the modern Disney’s Hollywood Studios logo. Before that, it featured the old logo for the park since 2008, preceded by the Disney-MGM Studios sign from 1989 until then.
