The construction for the new Monsters, Inc. land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is picking up speed, and the Stage 1 Company Store, also known as the Muppets store, has been mostly demolished.
Muppets Store Demolished

Since our most recent update posted on July 30, major demolition has begun in Muppets Courtyard. In our last update, just a few wall panels had been removed and the framework for the Stage 1 Comapny Store building was visible. Stage 1 Company Store never properly reopened following the COVID-19 shutdown of Walt Disney World in 2020.

However, as of July 31, the former Muppets store is almost completely gone from Muppets Courtyard. The top of the store, which used to be visible above the nearby construction walls, is almost entirely removed, apart from a single back wall that remains standing. The panels and structural components of the wall are all clearly visible.

The tops of demolition vehicles are also visible above the walls, currently parked in the area. The demolition actually took place during a portion of the day, while guests were inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

With the majority of the Muppets store gone, the opposite side of the area is now visible over the construction walls. This picture was taken to the side of Ice Cold Hydraulics.

The theater building of MuppetVision 3D is still mostly untouched. However, the most recent concept art for Monstropolis shows that this theater building will remain standing and be reimagined to fit the new theme, so there will not be as much demolition taking place on this side of Muppets Courtyard.

For comparison, above is an image taken during our most recent construction update on July 30. The majority of the Stage 1 Comapny Store was still standing at the time.
