Following a truck accident that closed a bridge at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, the bridge has been cleared and reopened as of July 26.
Damaged Port Orleans Resort Bridge Reopens

As we first reported yesterday, July 25, a large accident involving a truck striking the side of a bridge caused it to be closed for most of the day. The bridge in question is located across the waterway by Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, specifically the Riverside section. The damaged bridge also caused all water transportation to the resort to be paused yesterday while crew members assessed the damage.
A Cast Member at the resort did confirm for us today that the accident involved a trash truck hitting the bridge, but no other details are known at this time.

Now, as of July 26, 2025, the bridge is back open for guests. All of the water transportation services to the resort have also resumed normal operations. The bridge is visible from the Sassagoula River Cruise boats.

The bridge is also within easy walking distance from the Riverside hotel buildings. From a distance, the removal of the bridge’s arched railings is apparent.

The above image shows a different bridge located near the damaged one. The damaged bridge used to look similar to this image, with sections of wooden railing extending out from either side of the main structure and over the top in a curved shape.

Walking closer to the damaged bridge, there are a few orange and white barricades still staged nearby, but they are no longer blocking the bridge from being used.

There are new orange barriers lining both sides of the bridge, starting around the same area where the curved railing structures used to be. This bridge is wider than some of the other ones around the resort, and includes both a road for traffic and a walking path on the side for guests to use.

The orange barricades keep guests from getting to close to the damaged railing sections.

However, it does appear that more work has been completed on the bridge since the damage was reported yesterday. All of the wood planks that used to connect with the overhead arches have been painted where the ends were cut off, so the brown color matches the rest of the sides.

The bridge is back open for all forms of transportation, including the Walt Disney World buses.
