Cast Members are now preparing for the final night of operation for the Liberty Square Riverboat by handing out wristbands to guests.

The Liberty Square Riverboat sails under a cloudy sky in Magic Kingdom, adorned with festive red, white, and blue bunting.

While they were not available at park open, Cast Members at Magic Kingdom have started handing out wristbands to guests who want to be on the last ever journey for the Liberty Square Riverboat. The attraction, along with Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America as a whole, will officially be closed on July 7, making tonight the last day of operations.

The My Disney Experience app has been updated with warnings of the impending closures, as well as an operational notice for the Walt Disney World Railroad, since it will also be effected by the upcoming construction.

The wristbands are being handed out in Liberty Square, near the dock for the Liberty Square Riverboat and the exit for the Hall of Presidents.

Several strollers and a mobility scooter are parked outside a brick building in Magic Kingdom.

Two Cast Members were standing to the side of the building with a bag of the wristbands waiting to be handed out. When we visited at 11 a.m., there were still plenty of wristbands available.

The wristbands themselves are a gold color with the Magic Kingdom wordmark in white. The wristbands also have numbers, though Cast Members did not confirm how many in total were being handed out. A guest wanting to be on the last ride must present their wristband when they return toward the end of the night.

Guests who received a wristband were told to return to the same spot in Liberty Square at 8 p.m. The Cast Members also warned that the time of the final ride may vary depending on the local weather conditions.

The Liberty Square Riverboat, a.k.a. the Liberty Belle, is currently operating from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through July 6, its last day of operation. The Liberty Belle, Rivers of America, and Tom Sawyer Island are all closing permanently on the same day to prepare for a “Cars” expansion to Frontierland. Demolition permits were approved earlier this year, though we do not expect construction walls to appear immediately.
