All of the major theme parks in Florida are required to self-report guest injuries that require 24+ hours of hospitalization to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The Department publishes a quarterly report of the injuries, with this most recent update covering April through the end of June 2025.

The section devoted to Walt Disney World includes a total of three reported injuries. The first involved a 76-year-old female guest falling while exiting Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, causing her right leg to be injured on April 22. Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a guest on May 3 lost consciousness while riding DINOSAUR, but the report notes that the 87-year-old guest had a pre-existing condition. Finally, a male guest on June 21 had right arm pain while riding the Liberty Belle riverboat in Magic Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Universal Orlando Resort listed a total of seven reported injuries, three of which are from the recently-opened Epic Universe. One injury from May 5 involved a 32-year-old male guest experiencing chest pain while on Hiccup’s Wing Gliders. The other two Epic Universe injuries both involved Stardust Racers. One from June 22 had a 63 -year old male experiencing dizziness and an altered state of consciousness, while the other had a 47-year-old female experiencing a visual disturbance and numbness. However, the report notes that both guests involved in the Stardust Racers incidents also had pre-existing conditions.

Stardust Racers is a dual-launch roller coaster that features two 5,000-foot tracks dubbed Pulsar and Photon. It stands 133 feet tall at the inverted crisscross, known as the “Celestial Spin,” and hits a top speed of 62 miles per hour. After rumors that trim brakes were added to the rollercoaster during testing, guests are now being warned that their shoes must be worn at all times. Stardust Racers is also adding modified seats to accommodate larger guests.

The other injuries at Universal Orlando Resort include guests experiencing dizziness on Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, chest pain on The Incredible Hulk Coaster, an altered level of consciousness on the Caro-Seuss-el, and wrist pain while riding One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

For comparison, the numbers are somewhat reversed compared to the injuries at both parks reported from January to March of this year. During that first quarter period, Universal only reported three total injuries, all of which happened to be on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. However, Disney reported a total of seven injuries during this same period.
