Epic Universe has now hosted its first ever July 4th Celebration, which included a special performance by the Cosmos Fountain with music, lighting, and fireworks.

Epic Universe was one of several Orlando theme parks celebrating the 4th of July with a special event. This would mark one of the first major holidays at Epic Universe following the park’s grand opening in May. The special performance was first announced earlier this week after details of the show were added to the Universal Orlando mobile app.

The celebration took place at 9 p.m. in the usual viewing spot for the nighttime Cosmos Fountain show. However, unlike the usual nightly show, this special 4th of July performance included several minutes of fireworks appearing over the roof of the Universal Helios Grand Hotel and the nearby area. This is unique for Epic Universe because at the moment, the park does not have a dedicated nighttime spectacular with daily fireworks.

A few images and a full video of the Epic Universe July 4th Evening Celebration were shared by @bioreconstruct on X.

Like the usual Cosmos Fountain show, the fireworks and music were combined with lighting effects across Celestial Park. As seen near the end of bioreconstruct’s video, several of the areas around Celestial Park, such as the large dome over Constellation Carousel, were lit in red and blue for the event.

A three-minute video clip taken from inside Epic Universe was also shared online by Michael Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort. Aiello added in a separate post that the celebration included a score by Thomas Bergersen, which was a newly arranged suite from his American Dream album made specifically for Epic Universe. The celebration also included a voice-over by Milena Tinoco.

Several other parks celebrated July 4th with special activities and fireworks. Some of these included the Fourth of July golf cart parade at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” fireworks at Disneyland Park, and the “Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks tag at EPCOT.
