A Flood Watch is in effect today, July 15, 2025, for Central Florida, including Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort.
Flood Watch in Central Florida
The Flood Watch was issued just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday for Orange and Osceola counties, home of the two theme park resorts, as well as Seminole, Lake, Volusia, and Brevard counties.
The Flood Watch is in effect until 8 p.m. ET. According to the National Weather Service, “Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.”
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable to flooding. If a Flood Warning is issued, that means flooding is imminent or occurring.
Western Florida, in particular, is expected to experience heavy rainfall through Thursday, July 17. Rainfall totals will generally be 2-4 inches, but higher amounts are possible.
At the theme parks, these conditions mean outdoor entertainment could be canceled and outdoor attractions could close.
