Some additional foundation and plumbing work has occurred at the former Cool Ship Location in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom.
Former Cool Ship Construction Update

In our last update, crews had placed some small strips of wood in the dirt area that was formerly Cool Ship. Short pieces of rebar stuck out of the ground around the new frame. Now, that framing has been covered in dirt, and several plumbing pipes stick out from the ground. An excavator sits nearby, ready to complete any dirt work needed in the area.

The planters in the area behind the construction walls are also guarded by walls and scrim. We cannot tell much about what will be added to this location yet, although it is clear that the basics of a new or updated structure are beginning to take shape.

For reference, above is what Cool Ship and the nearby Cool Scanner looked like before their removal. After suddenly closing in May, Cool Ship was completely dismantled and removed from Magic Kingdom. The Walt Disney World website, however, says the outdoor location is “expected to reopen later this year.”
We don’t know if it will look like it used to, complete with the Cool Scanner mist spray attached, or if it will have a completely new design.
Tomorrowland is undergoing some substantial changes. Astro Orbiter recently re-opened after a 6-month refurbishment, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close soon for a major overhaul. The attraction will close on on August 4, 2025. It will reopen in 2026 with a new show scene, new character, updated ride vehicles, and gameplay enhancements.
