One of the moving walkways leading toward one of the two Universal Orlando Resort parking garages is temporarily closed. The walkway in question leads to the purple Spider-Man, orange Cat in the Hat, and green E.T. sections, as seen on the nearby digital parking garage sign.

A white construction wall blocks a walkway; a security guard stands nearby, and signs give directions.

Just behind the sign, the moving walkway in the center of this path is blocked by tall white construction walls. The standing sign warning guests about the rules of the moving walkway is still standing in its usual spot.

The walls are wrapped around this whole first walkway section closest to the sign, and block the walkway on all sides. The walls have been painted white with a gray border.

Behind the walls, the rest of this walkway is also blocked by some shorter metal barriers. The barriers meet up with the metal railing on either side of the moving walkway, keeping guests from using the middle path.

The walkway was not moving when we visited, and a dolly for transporting materials was left nearby. No other signs of work were visible yet, though the installation of construction walls implies it might not be a quick fix.

Universal has not made any official announcement about the walkway being closed, so there is no current information on when it is expected to be operational again. In the meantime, guests walking to or from this parking garage will need to travel the old fashioned way and use the path on the side of the walkway.
