The new meet and greet includes a total of five Minions, all of whom are dressed up for Villain-Con. Two of the characters wear Villain-Con gear like a bucket hat, belt bag, t-shirt, and ball cap. One carries an orange Villain-Con cup, and the other has a purple shopping bag.

The other three Minions are all dressed in cosplay as Scarlet Overkill, Balthazar Bratt, and Vector, who are among the villains that appear on the ride. Each Minion is wearing pieces of the villain’s signature outfit, complete with wigs, shows, and props. The Scarlet Overkill Minion has a crown perched on top of its head, while the Balthazar Bratt Minion is carrying his keytar.

The Minions meet guests outside the Villain-Con Minion Blast entrance, at the front right corner of Minion Park.

Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast first opened at Universal Studios Florida in 2023. The Japan version of the ride opened with a Minion Park expansion on this Friday, July 11. Universal described it is “an exciting evolution” of the attraction with “new, exclusive content and enhanced gameplay.” Some of the scenes in both the queue and the attraction have been altered in this new version. Check out our queue tour and ride POV of Universal Studios Japan’s Villain-Con Minion Blast.
