Universal Studios Japan held a grand opening ceremony for the Minion Park expansion on July 10, 2025.
The expansion includes Illumination’s Villain-Con: Minion Blast, the Evil Eats food stand, the Evil Stuff gift shop, and new meet and greet costumes.
Gru, Lucy, and the girls attended the grand opening ceremony as well as some of those new meet and greet costumes, with the Minions clad in Villain-Con tourist gear and three dressed as their favorite villains.
One Minion is dressed as Scarlett Overkill, one as Balthazar Bratt, and the last as Vector.
