The “Building a Dream” event will take guests inside the home Disney built on Woking Way in 1932 and lived in until 1950. The event benefits The Walt Disney Birthplace and The Center for Early Childhood Creativity and Innovation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit restoring Walt’s childhood home in Chicago.

There are three ticketed events on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23. Afternoon tea on August 23 is sold out, but tickets are still available for dinner on August 22 and a cocktail soirée on August 23.

Dinner at Walt Disney’s Storybook Home includes a welcome reception with signature cocktails, a private tour, a curated storytelling dinner, and dessert on the garden patio. It’s from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PST on August 22. Tickets are $1,500 per person.

The soirée will be “an elegant evening of storytelling, history, and curated conversations with Disney Legends and Imagineers.” There will be a private tour, silent auction, and cocktails. Guests will receive a limited-edition commemorative print created exclusively for the event. It’s from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PST on August 23. Tickets are $600 per person.

“We are thrilled and honored to be bringing guests into another remarkable home that also helps tell the story of Walt’s amazing life and creative legacy,” said Dina Benadon, co-founder of The Walt Disney Birthplace. “And we are so grateful that this event will support our arts education advocacy through CECCI to encourage young people to follow their own creative dreams.”

Dusty Sage, the Woking Way estate steward said, “Stepping inside Woking Way feels like stepping into the mind of a creative genius. And for one special weekend, guests will get to be part of that magic while contributing to something even bigger…the next generation of storytellers and visionaries.”
