Walt Disney World Testing New Character Meet and Greet Line Signage

Walt Disney World is now testing a new type of signage to mark the end of the line for character meet and greets.

Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom

We found the new signage being tested at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Cast Members did not confirm whether the signs will be tested at the other parks as well, or if the test will only be taking place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

New Donald Meet and Greet Sign

People walk by green construction walls in DinoLand U.S.A. in Walt Disney World under a sunny, partly cloudy sky.

The first new sign is being used near the former area of Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama in DinoLand U.S.A. Donald is currently meeting guests in this area while wearing his Donald’s Dino-Bash! costume.

A hand holds a paddle with Donald Duck’s smiling face, like those used for character meet and greet line signage.

The new signs are a square shape with an extended handle for the Cast Members to hold them up. The signs feature art of the specific character that they are located next to, in order to better help guests understand which line they are entering from the end. For example, the sign for Donald matches the green and yellow color scheme of his Dino-Bash! costume and includes Donald’s head wearing his hat.

Pocahontas Meet and Greet Sign

A person holds a Walt Disney World fan with Pocahontas outdoors on a sunny day, trees and blue sky in the background.

A second version of the new signage was being used in Discovery Island, leading towards the meet and greet for Pocahontas. This sign has a red and tan background with an artistic rendering of Pocahontas on the front.

Nearby Cast Members confirmed that only a few of the new signs have been rolling out over the past few days. In addition to making each character’s meet and greet line more distinctive, the Cast Members also mentioned having a picture of the specific character on each sign has been helping overcome language barriers while guiding guests to the right line.
