The Liberty Square Riverboat made its final journey on Sunday, July 6, 2025, and WDWNT was onboard for the last trip around the Rivers of America.

The Riverboat departed around 8:40 p.m. as the sun set over Magic Kingdom. Cast Members gathered to say their goodbyes on the docks.

The Liberty Belle was not the original Liberty Square Riverboat at Magic Kingdom. Another boat, the Admiral Joe Fowler, was the first to sail the Rivers of America on October 2, 1971. The Liberty Belle debuted in May of 1973, when it was known as the Richard F. Irvine. The Admiral Joe Fowler was destroyed in 1980, and in 1996, the Richard F. Irvine became the Liberty Belle.

While demolition permits have been filed for Tom Sawyer Island, and the Rivers of America will be no more, Imagineering has stated that they haven’t decided what to do with the boat itself yet.
