VIDEO: Violent Argument Among Guests at Disney Springs, Security Called

In the latest viral video of guests behaving badly at Walt Disney World, a group of people got into a fight while shopping at Disney Springs, resulting in security being called.

Disney Security Called for Guest Argument

UPDATE: One of the women involved in the altercation posted her side of the story in two TikTok videos. Watch them at the bottom of this article.

Disney World Gift Shop Fight

A video posted on TikTok by @bbrooke18 shows the Disney World gift shop fight as a group of guests getting into an argument at World of Disney in Disney Springs. In the video, the guests are standing near the check out counter inside the store. The video begins as the group is already fighting, with a man wearing a black shirt and baseball cap yelling at a nearby woman in a black top. The man is being physically held back by three other guests who seem to be a part of the same group. The video is accented with the caption “POV: you thought the Magic Kingdom fireworks were the main event tonight.”

The video is unclear about exactly what prompted the argument or how long the fight continued, though the man can be heard saying “Enough! Enough!” The woman can also be heard responding “Shut the f*** up!”

The guests standing on either side of the man also appear to be talking, though what they said is inaudible. While the argument does not escalate into a full-on brawl, the woman raises her hand to apparently hit one of the other guests in the face, while the man continues struggling for several seconds to get closer to her. One man wearing a brown shirt towards the back of the group can also be seen aiming a kick towards the woman during the fray.

A surprised woman reacts with hands raised; caption says a guest argument at Disney Springs stole the show tonight.

As the video continues, the camera zooms in on the somewhat panicked face of a nearby Cast Member, who appears to be one of the cashiers standing behind the check out counter. The Cast Member is standing back from the argument with both her hands up, as though she were asking the group to stop fighting.

While Disney Security cannot be seen in the video before the clip ends, the post includes an added note that “Security took longer than the wait for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.”

UPDATE: Later, TikTok user @livingwithmonica posted her side of the story. In the original video, Monica was the woman in the black top. She’s a local and explained in a 10-minute TikTok that she was visiting Disney Springs with her son, her cousin, his wife, and their daughter. When waiting in line at World of Disney with her cousin’s wife, Monica paused to help her son pick out a slap bracelet. The group of four behind her complained and her cousin’s wife continued moving the line. Monica then rejoined her ahead of the group a moment later.

The group, consisting of two men and two women, continued to complain and make comments while Monica ignored them. She said, “Obviously, they’re tourists who don’t know how to act.” They complained when the stroller Monica was pushing got stuck on a corner. The group ended up at the register next to Monica and her cousin’s wife, continuing to make comments until Monica snapped, insulting one of the women’s “nose job”.

The man in the brown shirt then insulted Monica and they continued to argue in Spanish. Monica, who said “it takes a lot to get me that mad” and that she was shaking, threatened to throw the slushy she was carrying at them. One of the men told her, “Do it,” and she threw it at one of the woman because she did not want to fight with a man.

The taller man then punched Monica twice on her cheek and her mouth. The original video begins after this moment as Monica hits him back. The man in the brown shirt tried to kick Monica while the two women held back the other man.

Monica’s cousin and his daughter also returned at this time and his wife took the two children away from the fight. Monica’s cousin, however, could not reach Monica because of the crowd that had formed.

Monica claims she was protecting herself and that from that moment on, she does not remember exactly what happened. She said her cousin told her the tall man grabbed her in a chokehold while she continued to hit the others. She showed a bruise on her arm from being held.

Monica states security never broke up the fight. She eventually got away and the group she was fighting seemingly left through a different exit. She said the police could not find them again.

Monica reached the exit with her family and tried to leave the building but a Cast Member stopped her. Monica insisted on leaving to get air and the Cast Member “tried to hold my son” so Monica couldn’t leave. Another Cast Member told the first Cast Member they had to let him go to his mother.

Monica got outside and held her son as she cried. She admits she should not have thrown the drink.

She said in her second video that she waited “ten minutes” for security. She thanked another Cast Member who stopped to talk to her and was “super nice.”

Monica spoke to the police and was ultimately banned from Disney property for at least a year. She said in a comment that “it’s better than jail so I’m okay with it” and she’s glad her family wasn’t also banned.

@livingwmonica

Unfortunately, it seems guests behaving badly at Walt Disney World is becoming something of a recent trend. On July 9, a guest was seen illegally flying a drone over World Showcase Lagoon in EPCOT, while another guest was caught on video dipping their cooling towel into the water of Living With the Land last month. Earlier this year, another online video showed a guest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom climbing up the side of the Tree of Life.
