A new social media video from Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a brand-new look inside the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern at Magic Kingdom, The Beak and Barrel.
New Look Inside The Beak and Barrel
The video was shared on the official Instagram account for Walt Disney Imagineering. In it, Imagineer Montse returns to show more of the progress as construction on The Beak and Barrel continues.

Crew members are shown painting weathering onto floors and walls, adding dirt and grime into cracks and crevices to appear more authentic to the Pirates of the Caribbean world.

The first sneak peek shown is at the booths found in the Captain’s Quarters, one of the areas that will be inside the tavern. Here, the backs of the booths feature hand-carved artwork that tells the different stories of the Pirate Lords. Above you can see Davy Jones and two scenes featuring Captain Jack Sparrow.

Captain Jack is featured in at least three carvings, with the third representing one of his appearances aboard the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

The next area is just left of the main bar, dubbed the Mapmaker’s Room. Here, new theming has been added to the walls to illustrate where pirates had to literally blow their way into the locked room with cannonballs. You can even see the physical cannonballs stuck into the wall, and view into the next room over from the main bar area.

The final aspect of The Beak and Barrel shown in the video is the backbar, first seen in concept art we’ve included below.

Described as the “feature of the space,” carvings in this area include skulls and crossbones, and the crab heart iconography associated with Davy Jones. And, of course, the backbar’s design forms the shape of a skull.
