Disney Cruise Line was honored in the 2025 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards as the #1 Large-Ship Ocean Cruise Line.
Disney Cruise Line Awarded by Travel + Leisure Readers
The Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards are voted on by readers and include the top 100 best hotels. This year’s list included hotels in 33 countries across five continents.
Disney Cruise Line was the list’s #2 Large-Ship Ocean Cruise Line in 2024. This year it tops the list, with readers praising the rotational dining, the presence of Disney characters, the cruise line’s crew, and the attention to detail.
“Amenities and facilities were amazing, and everything felt like the Disney atmosphere of my childhood,” one reader wrote.
Another reader said, “As an adult, I am wowed; I can’t imagine what it must be like to see it through the eyes of a child.”
Disney Cruise Line’s overall reader score was 88.33. #2 was Cunard, followed by Holland America Line, Celebrity Cruises, and MSC Cruises.
More About Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line is currently sailing six ships: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, and Disney Treasure. The Disney Destiny, which had its float out celebration last week, will set off on its maiden voyage this November, followed by the Disney Adventure in December.
Construction recently began on the unnamed fourth Wish class ship, set to launch in 2027.
A fifth Wish class ship will be constructed to sail out of Tokyo. It will be operated by Oriental Land Company, the owners and operators of Tokyo Disney Resort, and is set to launch in 2029. OLC has teased a potential second ship.
Three more ships are in development, to be launched in 2029, 2030, and 2031. These will be a new, smaller class.
If all goes to schedule and the Magic and Wonder are not retired early, a total of 13 Disney Cruise Line ships will be sailing by 2031. All upcoming ships were assigned hull numbers by Meyer Werft, the shipyard responsible for construction.
