People walk along a brick street lined with shops and trees in a lively theme park setting on a sunny day.

Frank was dubbed “Porch Potato” because of how much time he spent sitting on the Palm Parlor porch on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland. He was also called the “Mayor of Main Street.”

Frank’s family announced his passing on the @porch__potato Instagram page, writing, “He brought joy to us all with fist [bumps], high fives and enough stories for a million lifetimes.”

They asked people to share Porch Potato memories with the tag #porchpotatofrank in order to celebrate his life and 80th birthday this month.

Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro paid tribute to Frank on his Instagram story with a photo of both of them, Frank wearing a “Mayor of Main Street” sash. D’Amaro wrote, “So sorry to hear about the passing of Frank, Disneyland’s Porch Potato. You will be missed.”

In a comment on the Porch Potato page, D’Amaro also said, “One of my favorite things about walking down Main Street was seeing Frank. I feel so lucky to have spent time on the porch with him on our 70th anniversary and so sorry to hear of his passing.”

At Disneyland Park, guests have left flowers on the railing of the Palm Parlor porch in honor of Frank.
