Bone Wind Chimes, Money Bags, and More Props Arrive Ahead of Halloween Horror Nights 34

Several new props, set dressings, and details have arrived in preparation of Halloween Horror Nights 34 at Universal Studios Florida.

The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane (Central Park)

A plethora of details have been added to the Cat Lady’s house. In our last update, more foliage, including vines creeping up the porch and walls, had been placed around the house. Now, even more greenery and cat lady-esque details have emerged, including a giant yarn ball on the top of the side door awning.

The yard has also received grave markers for her cats (which may or may not have always been cats).

A wreath has been added to the front door, and several cat photos have been placed between some of the other decor.

A jack-o’-lantern sits on the porch among the vines and greenery. Next to the porch, a wooden barrel sits with a mask laid on top.

Two wind chimes made from bones have also been added to the porch.

Mutations: Toxic Twenties (New York)

In the  Mutations: Toxic Twenties scare zone story, a car crash causes BzzzCon toxic materials to spill into the city, creating mutated zombies. The car presumably causing the crash has now been added.

A victim of the crash or mutated zombie (or both) looks to be lying under a white sheet against the car. The figure is covered with a neon green substance, likely spilled from the barrels.

The car that crashed into the BzzzCon truck belongs to gangster Diamond Joe Malone or his associates, fleeing from a bank heist. The bags of cash are now falling from the trunk. Barmy Bank is likely a reference to the Barmy family from last year’s Triplets of Terror house.

Sting Alley Food Booth

A pigeon walks on a sidewalk near a wooden fence with green paint and a one-way street sign in front of brick buildings.

Where there was previously a tent set up for the Sting Alley Food Booth, fencing with green splatter has now been added when approaching from the lagoon side of the park’s New York area. This is likely also a connection to the Mutations: Toxic Twenties scare zone.

One of the panels has a rusty barrel laid over on its side, and another has a handprint in the same neon green color. Our pal under the sheet might have been the source of the splatter and print.

Behind the fencing panels, wooden boxes sit atop pallets. One has a standing barrel next to the box.

In the location of the tent, a building facade has now been erected to house the food booth. The paint splatters continue on the building.

Around on the New York side, two more panels serve as an entrance/exit to the alley and food booth. Last year, the Sting Alley food booth was themed to A Quiet Place. .

San Francisco Candy Factory – Chief Brody’s Truck

A vintage Amity Police Dept. SUV is parked on a plaza near colorful buildings and palm plants.

Chief Brody’s police truck has been parked outside of the San Francisco Candy Factory. Universal has started taking down the Little Amity overlay, but it looks like Jaws is here to stay in some capacity.

The newspaper sitting in Brody’s front seat places us at the point in Jaws when they’ve caught the tiger shark and believe the beach to be safe.

Café La Bamba

Vines have been added to the exterior of the Café La Bamba facade. The vines have been used to tie in various locations with the overall conservatory theme for HHN 34.

Tribute Store Poster

Poster for the "Grand Reveal Gala: Pitios of Epimetheus" on a glass door, with a vintage room reflected behind it.

The Tribute Store is a heavily-themed store with its own backstory and references to HHN lore. It will be the home for the majority of the Halloween Horror Nights merchandise for the year, though for many guests the store is an attraction by itself. While Sahara Traders usually has some Museum of Antiquities tie-ins, the updates for HHN include references to a new museum exhibit.

The poster reads like an ad for a museum gala. It features an image of the Museum of Antiquities along with text reading “A Grand Reveal Gala” and “Occult Artifacts of the World.” Below the museum, the poster invites the public to visit beginning August 29, the official start date of HHN 34.

The exhibit in question is called the “Pithos of Epimetheus.” Epimetheus is the Greek god of hindsight and excuses, who is also known as the brother of Prometheus. In some versions of the story, it is Epimetheus who opens Pandora’s Box. References to this same, presumably ill-fated, exhibit have been spotted in the lore-filled office window of Detective Boris Shuster. We found the poster at Gertner’s Bakery and Nazarman’s Pawnshop.
