Construction actually began on the land around the attraction in June. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit had its final day of operation on August 17, 2025. Construction walls went up the next day.

As seen from CityWalk, pieces of the coaster’s track are now gone. These missing pieces are from the loop closest to the lagoon.

Most of the coaster is still standing, but surrounded by piles of dirt and construction equipment. A tall crane is next to the iconic lift hill.

Universal has not announced what will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, but rumors suggest it will be a multi-launch roller coaster from Intamin. Construction walls that went up weeks early in Universal Studios Florida have references to GhostbustersBack to the Future, and Fast & Furious, fueling rumors the new coaster will be based on one of those franchises. A permit called for a two-story building.
