Tropical Storm Erin has officially become Hurricane Erin, the first hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic season.

Hurricane Erin Path

Hurricane Erin is currently not forecasted to impact the east coast of Florida, although there will still be significant risk of dangerous surf and rip currents along western Atlantic beaches next week. The predicted path of the hurricane has it curving away from land to the north, between Bermuda and the east coast of the U.S. Any storm effects in Florida would probably be on Monday – Wednesday next week. It is predicted to become a major hurricane this weekend.

That said, Hurricane Erin’s path may affect Disney Cruise Line operations out of Florida. Guests on a Disney Treasure sailing leaving Port Canaveral on Saturday, August 16, have already received communication about itinerary changes. Stops at Tortola and St. Thomas have been replaced with visits to Cozumel, George Town, and Falmouth. The cruise is still planning to visit Castaway Cay on Friday. Tortola and St. Thomas Port Adventures will be automatically canceled and guests will have the option to book Port Adventures at the new destinations.

Disney Cruise Line will communicate directly with guests about other changes to their itineraries via email and travel agents. Sometimes, last-minute changes have to be made once the sailing has already begun, in which case crew members will make announcements on the ship and via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for:
- Anguilla and Barbuda
