Diners, D-I-E-Ins, and Dives, oh my. Several new Mel’s Die-In Zombie-themed items have arrived at Universal Studios Florida ahead of its debut for Halloween Horror Nights 34.
Mirrored Sign – $25

The first item is a mirrored wall sign with a Mel’s Die-In graphic printed on the glass. The image features a faded picture of Mel’s Drive In, although the “R” and “V” are removed from the sign to spell “Die-In.” Text advertising “Good Times…Great Food” is printed above the restaurant while “We are dying to serve you” is written in “blood” below. The mirror also looks to be splattered with “blood.” Two hooks are provided for hanging on the back.
Decal Set – $8.99

The set comes with six separate decals: a zombie carhop, Mel’s D-I-E-In sign, Jukebox, and three Zombie-fied food items. The milkshake, hamburger, and fries are made up of fingers, eyeballs, and other bloody body parts.
Backpack – $75

The zombie carhop is also featured on this backpack. It is sized similarly to a Loungefly Mini Backpack, but the bag is not branded as such. The carhop wears a tattered outfit as she carries a severed head on a tray. Sections of her skin are also rotting away to reveal bones beneath.

The severed head is being served with a traditional burger and fries, although one of the zipper pulls features a mix of classic fries and zombie fingers.

One of the side slip pockets features the Mel’s D-I-E-In logo in red. The adjustable straps are blue and white checkered fabric. The back also has the full wordmark for Halloween Horror Nights.
Magnet – $12

A neon Mel’s D-I-E-In sign magnet is also available. There is blood splatted behind the red and blue letters.
Pin – $16

A pin features the faded representation of the restaurant in pink and light blue. “We are dying to serve you” is printed on a dangling silver charm beneath the main pin.
Adult T-Shirt – $33

Lastly, there is a light gray T-shirt with a similar design to the mirrored sign. The tee’s art glows in the dark, as mentioned on an attached sticker.

“Good Times…Great Food” is advertised above the restaurant while “We are dying to serve you” is written in “blood” below. The physical address for Mel’s Drive-In is also printed at the bottom of the design.
Universal Orlando Resort has announced that two new “street experiences” will be making their debut at Halloween Horror Nights 34, including Mel’s Die-In Zombies and Club Horror, as “all new street experiences that take horror to new heights.” More details will be released “soon,” but they have revealed that zombie carhops will surround Mel’s Drive-In and undead DJs will take over Club Horror.
This new offering joins previously announced scare zones Mutations: Toxic Twenties, The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane, Masquerade: Dance with Death, and The Origins of Horror.
