Two more new permits have been filed for DinoLand U.S.A. as its transformation into a Tropical Americas land continues at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

New Permits Filed for DinoLand U.S.A.

The first Notice of Commencement is for “General Construction” at 594 Dinoland Drive, Bay Lake, FL 32830, the approximate address for the DinoLand Goofy and Pluto meet and greet area, according to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District’s (CFTOD) Address Finder.

The pair could previously be found near Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, though Pluto was moved to The Oasis near the park’s entrance in May. Goofy can now be found outside Restaurantosaurus.

However, that same address finder shows the area pinpointed is the same as the DinoLand U.S.A. Service Station, which is currently the Donald’s Dino-Bash Welcome Center, where Donald Duck meets with guests. This area has not yet been walled off, but with this permit filing, it could be just a matter of time.

Whiting-Turner has been contracted for the work. The construction management company has worked with Disney several times in recent history, including on construction of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, demolition of It’s Tough to Be a Bug at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and early facility demolition for DinoLand U.S.A. The permit expires one year from its filing date, August 4, 2026.

The second permit filed today, also contracted to Whiting-Turner for “General Construction,” is for Restaurantosaurus, located at 601 Restaurantosaurus Road, Bay Lake, FL 32830. This permit will also expire one year from its filing, on August 4, 2026.

The dining location is still open to guests, most recently offering the Daisy’s Dig experience as part of Cool Kid Summer. Disney has not yet announced a closing date for the location; The Boneyard will close this September, and DINOSAUR will close in 2026 to be reimagined into an Indiana Jones attraction.

Other recent permit filings for DinoLand include Trilo-Bites, The Boneyard, and a Wilderness Explorers kiosk.

The Tropical Americas land is scheduled to open in 2027. Check out our latest look at aerial views of the expansion.
