The prep work continues for Halloween Horror Nights 34 at Universal Orlando Resort with some new sets, props, and other spooky details.
Masquerade: Dance with Death Scare Zone
The Masquerade: Dance with Death scare zone is located in the park’s Hollywood section. It has four stages, all with fake stained glass images. This stage outside the Studio Styles facade now has an additional set piece.
A table sits near the center of the stage. Atop the table is a golden tiered stand with a thin pole sticking out of its top.
The stand looks like it may hold eventually hold items. It might also get an additional piece on top.
The white marble stage now has gold lampposts at its front corners, matching the three reddish-brown stages.
Here is the description of Masquerade: Dance with Death.
You’re invited to a masquerade ball where bloodthirsty vampires lurk behind ornate disguises. When their masks fall, you’ll become their prey.
The Origins of Horror Scare Zone

Minion Land is becoming The Origins of Horror scare zone. Marble-style platforms with fencing and podiums were installed a few days ago.

Now there are larger set pieces, which continue to tie into the scare zone’s conservatory theming. Here is the scare zone’s description:
Enter a decaying conservatory of twisted vines where artists carve tributes to Halloween Horror Nights 34. You’ll encounter monstrous crows, gargoyles and more.

The large set pieces have wrought iron-style fences and twisted gates. Fake trees appear to grow through the backs of the structures, behind podiums.

Two rusty pieces of rebar and a bell-shaped copper element are embedded into the wall of this structure.

It is topped by a colorful stained glass roof with “broken” pieces.

Behind the tree are two windows with decorative frames within them. The frames feature a symbol of three circles. A third window appears to have been broken into a wider hole.

This structure is located on the street in front of Villain-Con Minion Blast. A second structure is placed straight across from it, in front of Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.

The second structure is similar to the first, with a stained glass ceiling, twisted tree, and “broken” gates.

This one has a larger opening in the back that a scareactor might be able to use as a doorway. For now, the opening is covered.
The Origins of Horror acts as the entrance to Halloween Horror Nights 34, which has the event-wide theme of The Conservatory.
The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane
The Central Park area of Universal Studios Florida hosts The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane scare zone, which has the following description.
Travel down a spooky winding path to a mysterious home, where trick-or-treaters are transformed into feral felines. Be careful or you’ll be next.
Many more decorations for the Cat Lady scare zone have been added at 9 Crooked Lane.

The broken window elements atop these structures for The Cat Lady of Crooked Horror were added in our last update. Now, additional theming has been added. Lots of unraveled yarn, yarn balls, and a cat tower add to the “cat lady” theme.

Rustic storyboards have been added to provide backstory for the scare zone. Each is written in the style of a children’s storybook, describing what happens to the children who visit the Cat Lady’s house.
More greenery, vines, and theming have also been added to the numerous bikes in the area.

The bikes may belong to the trick-or-treaters who have been transformed into feral felines, according to the house’s description. This particular bike is hidden behind a board covered in children’s clothing, yarn, and Halloween items.

More details surround two additional rusty bikes, including a plastic flamingo, potted plants, and orange leaves.

Additional flat black cat decorations have been added atop the fences.

Several more display areas add to the overall theming of the area. A discarded trike and skateboard, likely belonging to transformed trick-or-treaters, are propped up on this display.

Classic Halloween decorations like pumpkins, skeletons, and more are set up atop barrels and wooden shipping containers.

Other displays feature more children’s toys, jack-o’-lanterns, and cauldrons with more Halloween decorations.

A clown costume is discarded on this set of barrels and crates.

More clothes, a backpack, and a Radio Flyer Inchworm scooter have been left behind on this display.

A skeleton trick-or-treat basket and ripped jeans lay atop this crate, marked “Do not open, live specimen” on the rear side.

Along the fence line, even more props have been added, including a scarecrow and Halloween-themed garlands.

Among the decorations are children’s toys, masks, yarn, and realistic turtle shells.

Down the line, a wooden ghost cut-out stands among even more discarded clothing and Halloween items.

A toddler-sized Pumpkin costume lays against a a wooden crate, while yarn interweaves with the fencing and mask.

Burnt or mud-covered items top this crate, while clothing and jack-o’-lanterns sit on top of a garbage can.

A jack-o’-lantern trick-or-treat bucket sits abandoned in this Little Tike Cozy Coupe. Vines and straw surround the abandoned car.

Several jugs and jars of milk have also been added to some of the sets, likely as food for the transformed children.

Outside Animal Actors on Location!, a “house” is now taking shape near The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane scare zone. The house is blue and extremely weathered, with white window panels covered in dirt. It could be the “home” of the Cat Lady.
