The Japan pavilion of EPCOT has a new family-sized kakigori (Japanese shaved ice) treat.

Kakigori is available from Kabuki Cafe, a kiosk near the front of the pavilion. There are now two sizes, regular and large. Guests can pick up to three flavors from lemon, blue Hawaii, melon, strawberry, and Kyoho grape. They can add toppings including sweet milk, coconut creme, pineapple creme, strawberry creme, and mandarin orange.

Here’s the breakdown of pricing:

Two Flavors$7$10.25
Rainbow$7.50$10.75
1 Topping$2$3.50
2 Toppings$3$4.50
3 Toppings$4$5.50

Large Rainbow Kakigori – $10.75

We got a “rainbow” kakigori with melon, blue Hawaii, and strawberry shaved ice topped with condensed milk. We loved the melon flavor. It had an artificial honeydew taste, but it reminded us of Japan. The blue Hawaii was sweet and citrusy, but tasted like a surfer’s air freshener. The strawberry was just a generic artificial flavor.

This is definitely not for one person, but a family could easily enjoy this. The overall size is a good value for the price. It’s a decent, refreshing option to beat the Florida sun. Though definitely plan on eating it right after you order, because the heat makes the snack melt quickly.
