In a recent maintenance update, the skylights located above the Arcades on either side of Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Paris are working again, after years of being non-operational.
Skylights at Disneyland Paris

In a post on X, @DLPReport shared that the “fake” skylights located in the Liberty and Discovery Arcades in Disneyland Paris are now operational again. The French term “arcade” roughly translates to a covered passageway with shops or stalls on either side, as opposed to the gaming definition of an arcade.
The fake skylights that line the ceiling of the Discovery and Liberty Arcades have been repaired and are now turned on after several years. When this effect is operational, it illuminates the ceiling with some “natural” light from the “windows.” In actuality, both of the arcades are encased inside larger building structures.

The Liberty Arcade allows guests to explore the history of the Statue of Liberty. Historic photographs, artwork, and display cases illustrate the inception and construction of Lady Liberty “in a tale that links France to the United States of America.”

The Discovery Arcade section of this indoor walkway allows guests to explore the golden age of invention with scale models of some of the 19th Century’s greatest, ground-breaking creations. Dedicated to human hope and innovation, “ingenious patents to dreams of a utopian world are all on display for guests to discover.”
For comparison, in both images from the Disneyland Paris website seen above, the skylights are turned off or non-operational. In this case, the ceiling appears to be covered in a basic green and gray roof panel.
Disneyland Paris also recently confirmed the return of its A Million Splashes of Colour Parade. The parade, which first debuted in 2024, will return in February 2026. There has been no confirmation on whether the parade will be identical to its original run or see some changes for the 2026 version.
