Walt Disney World Surveying Guests About Disney Villains Including Horned King, Stromboli, Ratigan, & More

A Walt Disney World survey going out to recent visitors asks guests about several different Disney Villains, including rare villains like The Horned King and Stromboli, possibly in preparation for the new Villains land coming to Magic Kingdom.

Disney Villains Survey

A Disney Parks survey page shows a character named Yzma with options to select familiarity: Very, Somewhat, Not familiar, Unaware.

The guest who received this survey and shared details recently visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The survey asked general questions about their experience at the park, then asked them to “indicate to what extent you are familiar with the following characters from the Disney universe.” Guests could choose “Very familiar,” “Somewhat familiar,” “Not familiar, but aware,” or “Unaware.”

A survey asks about familiarity with Chernabog from Disney, showing an image of the character with response options below.

All of the characters were Disney Villains, beginning with Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. The list also included:

  • Hades (Hercules)
  • Cruella de Vil (One Hundred and One Dalmatians)
  • Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
  • Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
  • Lady Tremaine (Cinderella)
  • Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)
  • Jafar (Aladdin)
  • Scar (The Lion King)
  • Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog)
  • Mother Gothel (Tangled)
  • Stromboli (Pinocchio)
  • Chernabog (Fantasia)
  • The Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
  • Madam Mim (The Sword in the Stone)
  • Ratigan (The Great Mouse Detective)
  • Magnifico (Wish)
  • The Horned King (The Black Cauldron)
  • Shere Khan (The Jungle Book)
  • Gaston (Beauty and the Beast)
  • Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
A survey asks about feelings toward a tall, purple-clad animated character named Yzma from Disney Parks.

The next question asked, “Which of the following responses best reflects your feelings toward these characters?” Guests could choose from “Very appealing,” “Somewhat appealing, “Neutral / No opinion,” “Somewhat unappealing,” and “Very unappealing.”

Disney Villains Land & Unfairly Ever After

A fantastical landscape reveals a dark castle amid jagged rocks and glowing lights, with waterfalls cascading under a colorful sky. Birds, as if granted a special permit, soar gracefully in the distance.

It’s possible the survey is gauging interest in different Disney Villains to appear or have themed areas in the new Villains land at Magic Kingdom. Disney already announced a list of villains inspiring the land, including The Queen of Hearts, Jafar, the Evil Queen (and her Old Hag form), Lady Tremaine, Yzma, Cruella, Captain Hook, Maleficent (and her dragon form), Gaston, Mother Gothel, Ursula, Hades, and Chernabog.

Notably absent from that list but present on this survey are rare characters Stromboli, The Horned King, Ratigan, and Madam Mim. Scar and Shere Khan are more popular but would be harder to represent in a character meet and greet. Still, they could inspire attractions, shops, or dining venues.

Disney stated the land will have two attractions, dining, and shopping, but didn’t share other details. The concept art is clearly inspired by Maleficent’s castle.

A vibrant theater stage with red lighting and ornate frames sets the scene for Unfairly Ever After’s live musical performance.

The survey could also be for updates to Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. The new stage show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios features Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, and Captain Hook, with other villains appearing on screens. But different villains could easily be swapped into the show. Watch our video of Unfairly Ever After below.
