Review

Food:

Elotes – $8.49

Fire grilled corn on the husk with choice of cotija cheese and Tajin or Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

A hand holds a corn on the cob coated in red seasoning at the Camp Crystal Lake food stand—perfect for Halloween Horror Nights.

You have to choose between standard with Tajin and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. We opted for the Flamin’ Hot and loved it. There was a great flavor and texture that somehow did not overpower the other flavors like you might expect with Flamin’ Hot.

Spiral Sausage – $11.99

Merguez style spicy grilled pork sausage with bloody harissa BBQ sauce

A grilled sausage in a brown paper tray sits on a black outdoor table in the Jason Universe.

The harissa barbecue sauce provided an interesting flavor, but we have some concerns with the value for the price point. Despite that, we did enjoy this offering.

Camp Bloody S’mores – $7.99

Toasted chocolate almond bread with ganache, marshmallows, cinnamon cereal, and blood spatter

A hand holds a tray with a Camp Crystal Lake chocolate dessert topped with toasted marshmallows and cinnamon cereal.

This is the same bread as the bun on the Huskus’ Muscle Man Slop at WWE. It works better here. The “walking” s’mores with fresh Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on top combined for a sweet surprise.

Beverages:

Crystal Lake Coffee – $16

Seagram’s 7 whiskey, DeKuyper Crème de Cacao, cold brew concentrate, and toasted marshmallow syrup

A clear mug of black coffee topped with cream sits on a table in the Jason Universe.

This drink is extremely strong. If you start your night off with this one, you may get the most efficient buzz for your buck, but it is a couple of dollars more than many of the cocktails available this year.

Blood Orange Mocha Mocktail – $9

Cold brew concentrate, chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and blood orange syrups with a Sh’mallow topping and chocolate drizzle

A Jason Universe plastic cup of iced coffee topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup sits on a black table.

The coffee is bitter, but the cream on top is good. If you like strong coffee, you would probably enjoy this.
