Crews are constructing a new guard shack for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as part of a reconfiguration of the resort’s entrance.
New Polynesian Resort Guard Shack
In our last construction update, we saw the beginnings of this guard shack. More steel has been added to the framework since, creating the beginnings of walls. Multiple crew members in lifts were working on the structure on Friday morning.
The shack is at the front of a construction site that has taken over a portion of the Polynesian parking lot. The resort’s new roadway entrance will be off Floridian Way instead of its current Seven Seas Drive entrance. The former entrance will become a bus road.
More curbs outline what appears to be the beginnings of a planter in the center of the construction zone. It looks like the road will split around the planter, leading to the parking lot or up to the Great Ceremonial House.
The planter is triangular with rounded corners, although two have not been set yet. There are temporary frames instead of concrete. Crew members also continue to move dirt from the area.
Construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, including other refurbishment projects and repairs, will continue through 2026.
